"No matter where he plays next season..."

Jürgen Klopp reacted cautiously to speculation about a move from Liverpool star Sadio Mane to German record champions Bayern Munich.

“This isn’t the first time Bayern rumors have surfaced ahead of an important game in my career. This is the wrong moment to talk about it. No matter where he plays next season – he will definitely be a great player,” said the Reds team manager a day before the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The talks should only be intensified after the final, she wants picture have experienced. FC Bayern is reportedly ready to pay 30 million euros for the 30-year-old, the Reds allegedly want 50 million for the man who Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be courting. Mane’s contract at Liverpool runs until 2023.

However, Mane is not planned in Munich as a replacement for world footballer Robert Lewandowski, who is still willing to change. He has international class as a scorer, which is underlined by 120 goals in 268 competitive games for Liverpool. But he is more at home on the wing – and thus an alternative to Serge Gnabry, who has so far rejected an improved offer from Bayern to extend his contract, which also ends in 2023.

Practical: Mane and Gnabry have the same advisor with whom the Munich sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was spotted on Mallorca. Does one come because the other goes?

Mane has announced that he will answer the question about his future after the final on Saturday (9 p.m. in LIVETICKER). “I’ll tell you everything you want to hear,” said Mane – but only after the final: “Come back on Saturday and I’ll answer, I promise.”

Klopp raved about his protégé on Friday: “He’s in the best shape of his life. It’s fun to watch him,” said the Liverpool coach. “I couldn’t care less about these rumours. We’re all focused on the game.”

Champions League: Klopp rejects role as favourite

Klopp rejected the role of favorites for the final. “If you look at the history and the experience of the players, Real Madrid are the favourites. Many of their players can win the Champions League for the fifth time, the manager for the fourth time. That says everything about Real. But if we show our best performance , it’s hard to play against us.”

Klopp can again count on the recently injured Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho in the final. “It’s looking good for both of them. Both are training normally today,” he said. Thiago was substituted at half-time in last weekend’s 3-1 win over Wolverhampton. Fabinho has not played a game since beating Aston Villa 2-1 on May 10 due to a muscle injury.
