No offers for Moussa Diaby yet

According to sports director Simon Rolfes from Bayer Leverkusen, there have been no concrete offers for the courted winger Moussa Diaby. Rolfes is “very optimistic that he will stay”, he says table football betrayed.

At the same time, however, he knows about Paris St. Germain’s efforts to bring the 22-year-old back: “There are a few clubs in Europe: If they really want a player, it will be tight. PSG is one of them.”

From Rolfes’ point of view, Bayern Munich’s exceptional position cannot be shaken, even if world footballer Robert Lewandowski says goodbye. “Regardless of whether with or without Lewandowski, they are the absolute top favourites,” he said of the title fight, “and that won’t change any time soon”.

For Rolfes it is clear: “In the end, money also scores goals. And with the advantage that Bayern have in terms of salary budget, they will start the race from pole position again this season.”

Especially since he sees Sadio Mane’s commitment by the record champions as a “big deal”. “This transfer underlines Bayern Munich’s potential,” emphasized the 40-year-old: “They’re the only ones in the Bundesliga who can dare to approach a player like that.” Mane is “a win for the league”.

Rolfes called on “all the top clubs” in the league to make the fight for first place more exciting. However, he warned: “Bayern have scored more than 80 points for ten years. It doesn’t make sense for us to deal with Bayern Munich. We want and have to look at ourselves.”
