Officially! Union Berlin have signed David Datro Fofana from Chelsea

Union Berlin have loaned David Datro Fofana from Chelsea for a year. The Bundesliga club officially announced this on Tuesday. Union loudly secured a purchase option for the Ivorian Picture not.

“The club has worked hard for me for a long time and I want to repay that with good performances,” said Fofana on the Union website.

Oliver Ruhnert, the managing director of the Berliners, added: “David’s pace and his flexible attacking qualities are of great interest to us. We want another dangerous player who will give our attacking game additional impetus.”

The 20-year-old striker only moved to London from Norway’s FK Molde in the winter for €12m.

However, he did not prevail at Chelsea. Overall, he only played 112 minutes in four short appearances in the second half of the past season, in which he failed to score a point.
