Oliver Glasner's farewell after the cup final apparently decided

Oliver Glasner’s days at Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are apparently numbered. A report of Picture-Zeitung according to late Monday evening, the coach, who led Eintracht to a sensational European Cup victory in 2022, will leave the club early after the DFB Cup final against RB Leipzig on June 3rd.

This has after Picture-Information resulted in a short-term crisis discussion between Glasner and Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche. After Glasner’s angry speech on Saturday after the defeat at TSG Hoffenheim (1: 3), spokesman Axel Hellmann had already publicly criticized the Austrian. Glasner has a contract until 2024, and there was initially no statement from the club.

Glasner had led Eintracht to triumph in the Europa League and thus to their first entry into the Champions League. In recent weeks, however, criticism of the coach has increased, whose team has been waiting for a win for ten league games. After his red card in Sinsheim, Glasner is suspended for the neighborhood duel on Saturday (3:30 p.m.) against FSV Mainz 05, as the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed on Monday.

At least since his outburst on Saturday, numerous observers have assumed that Glasner’s tenure in Frankfurt is nearing its end – despite the renewed entry into a final. Matthias Jaissle and Dino Toppmöller are traded as successors.
