"One drawer too low!" Lothar Matthäus advises against signing Niclas Füllkrug

Lothar Matthäus has changed his mind and advised Bayern against transferring Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug.

“I think he’s great, but I think he’s a drawer too low for Bayern Munich,” said the record international of the striker Sky90 and also referred to its age. At the age of 30, there is probably no long-term alternative for the people of Munich.

Füllkrug is “a bit of a street footballer and an ideal player for the Premier League,” Matthäus continued.

A few weeks earlier, Matthäus Füllkrug had described him as a possible candidate for Bayern because the price-performance ratio was right. “He would probably be available for 20 to 25 million and also makes 25 pieces in Munich. He has already scored 20 times at Werder,” said the 62-year-old.

Füllkrug is still under contract with Werder until 2025, a change in the summer is considered likely. In the current season he scored 16 goals in 28 competitive games and prepared six more goals.
