Only FC Bayern is really under pressure

Germany’s record national player Lothar Matthäus sees only Bayern Munich mentally challenged in the Bundesliga title fight. He had to say, wrote the 62-year-old in his sky-Column, “that for me only FC Bayern has the right pressure. Because only they have to become German champions and not Borussia Dortmund.”

With three games to go, FC Bayern leads the table with a one-point lead over BVB. In the case of Munich, “the already great unrest will become even greater if they don’t become champions,” wrote Matthäus: “That won’t be the case with Dortmund.”

In the away win in Bremen (2-1), the record champions “didn’t shine again and found it very difficult to play. As always, what they offer on the pitch is pretty shaky,” the former Bayern star continued.

In the Weser Stadium, coach Thomas Tuchel once again did without Thomas Müller in the starting XI. Matthäus rules out the fact that the veteran is spreading a bad mood because of this. Müller will “not make any negative statements until the end of the season,” says the world footballer from 1991.

“He wants to become German champion and knows that after the endless number of negative topics, there is no need for more unrest,” wrote Matthäus and explained: “He is far too intelligent for that.
