RB Leipzig brings Abdou Diallo from PSG and gives top talent

RB Leipzig have signed defender Abdou Diallo from French champions Paris Saint-Germain. As the club announced on Thursday, the 26-year-old will come to the Saxons on a one-year loan basis. With the transfer, the DFB Cup winner reacted to the absence of national player Lukas Klostermann, who has been out for a long time with a syndesmosis injury.

“It’s nice to be back in the Bundesliga. RB Leipzig has great ambitions and a lot of potential – we have a great job and an exciting season ahead of us,” said Diallo.

The defender, who has already played for FSV Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, played 75 competitive games for PSG after his move in 2019. During this period, Diallo became French champion twice (2020 and 2022) and won the French cup twice (2020 and 2021). He was also African champion with Senegal that year.

Meanwhile, Leipzig is again lending midfielder Ilaix Moriba to FC Valencia. The 19-year-old Spaniard, who came to RB from FC Barcelona for 16 million euros in 2021, will now stay in Valencia until the end of the season. Moriba had played for the former European Cup winners since January.
