"Reduce stress!" Oliver Kahn explains his disappearance

In FC Bayern’s 2-1 win at Werder Bremen on Saturday, Oliver Kahn suddenly disappeared from his seat in the stands in the second half. The CEO later gave the reason.

“I hardly saw anything there, because of course people are emotional and always got up. I then looked at it in the box,” said Kahn in the ZDF-Gym.

During the game in the Weser Stadium, the cameras kept panning in the direction of the Bayern bosses. But at some point only sports director Hasan Salihamidzic could be seen, the seat next to him was empty.

“You had a clear view of the pitch from behind. When it’s so tight, I have to move around a bit and relieve the stress,” Kahn continued.

The 53-year-old had “a bit of concern again” about Munich’s initial performance, he explained: “We created chances, but didn’t take them. We’ve had that many times this season.”

Serge Gnabry redeemed FC Bayern in the 62nd minute with his goal to make it 1-0. Ten minutes later, Leroy Sané increased, Werder only managed to get a goal through Niklas Schmidt (86th).

The German record champions lead the table by four points over Borussia Dortmund. With a win against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday (5.30 p.m. in LIVETICKER), BVB can move back up to one point.
