Maria KeaneRecord newcomer Ricardo Pepi wants to aim high with FC Augsburg. “I have a dream: I want to play in the Champions League with Augsburg,” said the 18-year-old Sturm talent in an interview with the sports picture.
“It may sound crazy at the moment, but that’s my goal. I’ve always had big dreams. And that’s the only way I could make progress,” Pepi continued.
That’s why the young American takes no less than the world footballer as a role model. “I look up to Robert Lewandowski. I want to get to this level, I work on it every day,” said Pepi.
The enormously high fee of up to 17.5 million euros that Augsburg pays to FC Dallas does not mean any additional pressure for Pepi.
“I wasn’t the one who called that price,” he said. “I don’t feel any pressure at all, honestly. I’m just doing what I do best.”
