Bayern Munich is one of a number of big-name clubs looking to sign striker Mateo Retegui in the summer. This is reported by the Argentine TV station TNT Sports.
According to the report, 15 clubs from Europe are interested in the Boca Juniors forward, who is on loan to Club Atletico Tigre until the end of the year. In addition to Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United are also mentioned.
After Robert Lewandowski’s departure to FC Barcelona last summer, FC Bayern is constantly associated with new strikers. Among others with Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Marcus Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach and Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani.
Retegui is currently one of the most accurate strikers in South America. In 2022, the 23-year-old scored 23 goals and provided three assists in 42 games. In the two games of the new season he netted three times.
The 1.86 meter tall striker comes from the youth of River Plate and switched to arch-rivals Boca Juniors in 2016. From there he has since been awarded to Estudiantes, CA Talleres and Tigre. The club from the province of Victoria near Buenos Aires can sign him at the end of this year with a purchase option. Retegui’s contract with Boca Juniors runs until December 2024.
