Sadio Mané has often had to pay fines at Liverpool

Liverpool top performer Andrew Robertson has revealed Sadio Mané was often fined during the Reds’ days. The reason: the Senegalese apparently regularly forgot his passport.

Robertson told in We Are Liverpool Podcast: “Some of the fines are expensive. If you forget your passport on a trip away from home, a large part of your salary will be deducted.” In this context, the Scot came to speak of Bayern star Mané and said: “It has happened a few times, Sadio was often the culprit, and of course the flight and arrival are delayed. We had to impose a large fine.”

Robertson also revealed that captain Jordan Henderson and vice-captain James Milner are responsible for the fines system. He added: “Hendo and Millie make a lot of decisions. Fines for example, Millie is the fines police, he’s the one in charge. Since I’ve been here he’s had a fine once.”

During his time at Anfield, Mané made 269 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 120 goals. The attacker became one of the Reds’ top performers, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The 30-year-old wore the Liverpool shirt for six years before joining Bayern Munich last summer.
