Sadio Mané wants to stay despite interest from Saudi Arabia

Sadio Mané wants to stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Saudi Arabia, even after one with Leroy Sane in the dressing room.

According to the Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg Saudi Arabian teams have shown interest in Sadio Mané and made him one of their top transfer targets. However, Get German Football reports that the player’s representatives have apparently informed Bayern Munich that he wants to stay with the Bundesliga club.

The Senegalese wants to stay in Munich, despite his disappointing debut season in Germany, in which he contributed just 12 goals and six assists in 38 games, and despite his falling out with team-mate Leroy Sané in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Manchester City.

Should Mané accept an offer from the Saudi professional league, he would follow the current trend. So far, only Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are officially signed by a Saudi top flight club, but N’Golo Kanté is also said to be close to joining Benzema at Al-Ittihad, while Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos are being courted by Al-Ahli .

The striker’s contract with Bayern Munich runs until 2025. It remains to be seen whether the German record champions are interested in his continued employment or whether he will respond positively to an official offer from the Saudis.
