Saša Kalajdžić is absent from the final training session at VfB Stuttgart

Striker Saša Kalajdžić is reportedly on the verge of a move from VfB Stuttgart to Wolverhampton Wanderers. As the Swabians announced on Saturday, the Austrian will not be in the squad for the Bundesliga away game on Sunday at 1. FC Köln (3.30 p.m. / DAZN), and he did not take part in the final training session either.

As VfB wrote on Twitter, the Austrian was absent from training at his own request. The club accepted the striker’s request. The Wolves’ interest has been known for days, and VfB probably want around 25 million euros for their center forward.

VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat confirmed the interest of the English first division club on Monday sky. “There are initial interests from England, the Wolves are one of them,” he said, “but at the moment it’s not really concrete on either side.”

The 25-year-old has been playing in Stuttgart since 2019 and his current contract expires at the end of the season. There is also speculation at VfB about a short-term change from left-back Borna Sosa.
