Sebastian Kehl comments on winter transfers for Borussia Dortmund

After a “critical” analysis, Sebastian Kehl wants to meet his own demands. The BVB sports director also commented on possible winter transfers. The former coach of Borussia Dortmund Marco Rose reviewed the past season. All news and rumors about the black and yellow are here.

Here you can find more news about BVB from the previous days:

BVB, News: Sebastian Kehl wants to live up to his own standards

Borussia Dortmund lost the last two Bundesliga games and spent the winter in sixth place. For Sebastian Kehl, it was therefore time to “address things internally, analyze them and deal with them critically,” explained Dortmund’s sporting director at the general meeting. “Sixth place in the Bundesliga is certainly not what Borussia Dortmund is aiming for!”

He sees progress in the Champions League and staying in the DFB Cup as positive. Therefore, he could only convey “that we will continue to attack from January”. You see more in the team and are dissatisfied with the “constellation in the Bundesliga”. “We have to live up to the standards we set for ourselves!”

“Our goal tally, the standard situations and the effectiveness” named Kehl as clear areas for improvement. Some offensive players have not yet “found the performance that we expect” – and that BVB also needs to be successful. A solution? “We’ll turn the screws a little tighter.”

BVB, News: Possible personnel changes in winter

Sports director Sebastian Kehl and coach Edin Terzic are firmly in the saddle at BVB. At the general meeting, managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke supported his managers.

Kehl also feels the “great responsibility” that Watzke spoke of, but it’s nothing new for him. “I know what weighs on me, it motivates me and gives me a lot of drive,” explained the sporting director. He wanted to put BVB “on a much better footing from January” than was possible in the first four months.

Since there will probably be no change of coach, the question of winter transfers arises. The coming transfer period will be “unusual”, explained Kehl, “because the market will move in a completely different way due to the World Cup”. But BVB is not a club that “acts extraordinarily” in winter. Nevertheless, one is in the process of “doing the homework”. The focus is partly already on the summer.

BVB, News: Probably no FC Bayern interest in Youssoufa Moukoko

At the DFB press conference on Saturday, Manuel Neuer jokingly invited Youssoufa Moukoko to Bayern Munich: “Come to Bayern,” he joked. But according to the picture put behind it no serious interest of the FCB. The Dortmund Sturmjuwel was discussed internally at Bayern, but they decided not to actively advertise for him.

Moukoko himself made a cautious statement: “In the end, you’ll all know whether I’m staying or not.” Sebastian Kehl also only said at the general meeting that there was “no positive news” to report.

BVB, News: Ex-coach Marco Rose came “with the goal of becoming German champion”

The former coach of Borussia Dortmund Marco Rose expressed himself in the sky-Interview during his time at BVB. “I went to Dortmund with the goal of becoming German champion,” he explained of his ambitions at the time, “that’s why I made the move from Mönchengladbach to Dortmund.”

He sees the 69 points he has achieved as a “very decent Bundesliga season”. He highlighted one internal record in particular: “We scored the most goals in Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga club history!” Nevertheless, too often you couldn’t get what you wanted on the pitch.

In the final season analysis, they “didn’t come to the same denominator” and therefore ended the collaboration. “But I have good memories of the year,” he reminisced about “great people.” Rose continued: “I really enjoyed being in Dortmund and felt very, very comfortable there.”
