Sven Mislintat gives update on Atakan Karazor

VfB Stuttgart’s sports director Sven Mislintat has commented on the allegations against Atakan Karazor. The defensive player has been in custody in Ibiza for around three weeks.

“You can’t say exactly how that will develop,” said Mislintat at the start of the Swabian training session and added: “You listen to what the lawyers tell you, what is reflected back from the personal conversations that Ata had with his family and his lawyer. But of course I won’t be able to comment on that as it’s an ongoing case.”

With regard to the impending failure for an indefinite period, the Stuttgart team is keeping calm for the time being. “I would like to answer that as if Ata were injured. If Ata had an injury, we would also take care of it internally, so we are calm and relaxed there,” said Mislintat.

The 25-year-old still has a contract until 2026. Should VfB want to sign a replacement, there is still enough time until September 1st. Only then does the summer transfer window close.
