The veteran of FC Bayern could end up with these clubs

Inter Milan

FC Bayern Munich and Thomas Müller – The German record champion and his club legend have been inseparable since 2000. FCB belongs to Thomas Müller, just as Müller belongs to FCB. But that could change at the end of the season, because the 33-year-old is probably thinking about leaving Säbener Straße. Only two starts in the past six games. Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel mostly relies on Jamal Musiala behind the only leader.

A Müller farewell is certainly unimaginable for most Bayern fans. But it’s not the first time that the 121-time German national player is considering leaving his heart club. In the winter of 2009, TSG Hoffenheim were about to sign Müller. In the end, however, the deal fell through because of “a few hundred thousand,” as Müller later said, and because of the veto by Bayern’s amateur coach at the time, Hermann Gerland.

Hoffenheim is probably out of the running now, the Bayern legend still wants to win titles. The 33-year-old himself already joked in a post on his Instagram page, where he referred the many speculations to the realm of fables with a good dose of humor.

However, if Müller would like to try something new again in the autumn of his career, SPOX the transfer options.

Thomas Müller, transfer options: Inter Milan

In the summer of 2012, Inter Milan presented an offer for Müller, who was openly considering a move. Under Jupp Heynckes, Raumdeuter was not set, similar to 2019 under Niko Kovac. Both times Inter showed concrete interest, but the result remained the same: Müller stayed in Munich and became a top performer again.

Could it now work on the third attempt? Romelu Lukaku’s loan expires in the summer, staying in Milan is ruled out. Lautaro Martinez needs a strike partner for the coming season.

Inter is also familiar with German strikers in black and blue: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Rudi Völler, Jürgen Klinsmann and Lukas Podolski have all played for the “Nerazzuri”.

Thomas Müller, transfer options: AC Milan

In addition to Inter, city neighbors AC Milan also showed interest in winter 2019. The AC offensive could use a breath of fresh air: 41-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic will probably leave Milan in the summer, while Real Madrid will probably use his buy-back option with Brahim Diaz.

Milan could therefore tolerate a central offensive force well, with the 36-year-old Olivier Giroud and Müller, last year’s Serie A champions could form an experienced storm duo. After all, old age does not protect against goals, as Karim Benzema (35) and Robert Lewandowski (34) show impressively.

Thomas Müller, change options: Manchester United

In the summer of 2015, Müller received a 100 million offer, ex-FCB coach Louis van Gaal really wanted to bring his protégé to Old Trafford. It may have been eight years since that offer, but Manchester United could be interested again.
The Red Devils want to get a mega-star like Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen or Randal Kolo-Muani up front in the summer. Müller feels most comfortable behind a real top, a transfer double pack could take United’s weakening offensive to a new level.
In addition, United coach Erik Ten Hag enthused in an interview with Sport1 in April 2022: “I’m a big fan of his, he’s so complete and intelligent. He’s one of my favorite players.” Anything but bad conditions.

Thomas Müller, transfer options: MLS / Saudi Arabia

According to the Sport Bild report, there are currently two concrete offers from the USA and interest from Saudi Arabia. But that shouldn’t be an option for the title-hungry Müller. The offensive player wants to continue fighting for trophies in Europe and not (yet) end his career in the USA or Saudi Arabia.

Thomas Müller, change options: Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Even a change within the Bundesliga should not be ruled out – but Müller in the jersey of Borussia Dortmund or RB Leipzig? This is actually unimaginable for the Bayern legend.

Sky expert Didi Hamann suggests Bayer Leverkusen: “A young team like Leverkusen, as an experienced leader he can show what he can do. If I had to name a team, Leverkusen would be number 1. Number 2 would be Freiburg, maybe then Frankfurt.”

But Leverkusen has not yet won a title in its club history, does Müller see a great chance of winning a precious metal? He would also meet an old acquaintance in Xabi Alonso.

Thomas Müller, change options: FC Bayern Munich

Müller is more likely to win the title at Bayern, his contract runs until 2024. Boss Oliver Kahn also firmly refuses to say goodbye. Asked about a possible farewell to Müller, Kahn told the sports picture: “That will not happen!”

But: A “basta statement” went wrong with Robert Lewandowski in the summer. Saying goodbye to Müller would be a turning point. Not just for Bayern Munich and its fans. Also for the more and more dying romance in football.
