After captain Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller may also have to do without Bayern Munich’s trip to Asia. He expects the ailing 33-year-old back “at the earliest” for the trip to Japan and Singapore (July 24 to August 3), said coach Thomas Tuchel after the easy win in the first preparatory game against FC Rottach-Egern (27:0).
“We have to wait for the healing process and see how free he is then and how far it makes sense,” explained Tuchel. Müller left the German record champions’ training camp at Tegernsee early due to muscular problems in his left hip.
He is currently completing individual units at the club premises on Säbener Straße. After breaking his leg, Neuer decided not to travel to Asia with friendlies against Manchester City (July 26), Kawasaki Frontale (29) and Liverpool (August 2) to promote his comeback.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mathys Tel were also injured in the win over FC Rottach-Egern.
