Maria KeaneTony Kroos commented on the dismissal of coach Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich.
“I even believed it for a moment,” said the 33-year-old on his podcast Just lups about the statement by FCB President Herbert Hainer, who described Nagelsmann as a “long-term project” shortly before his departure.
“That was more manifest than ever before. How much they had their backs on him until a week before. That was unusual. There were better results and there was more criticism. They were united behind him,” said Real Madrid midfielder.
“If they think sporty, then that’s the way it is,” Kroos continued, emphasizing again: “But I was briefly at the point that I believed them.”
Apart from a one-year loan to Bayer Leverkusen, the world champion played for the German record champions from 2006 to 2014 before joining Los Blancos.
Ballack von Nagelsmann-Aus “surprised”
Former DFB captain Michael Ballack was a guest on the Kroos podcast and was “surprised” by Bayern’s decision because the sporting situation really didn’t allow it.
Ballack’s assumption is: “There will certainly be reasons that not everyone knows and that are not communicated.”
