In the first training session after the 4-2 defeat by Werder Bremen, Hertha coach Pal Dardai sent a message to his team, which was in serious danger of relegation. Hungarian player Ivan Sunjic was kicked out of the practice session because of indiscipline.
“What are you thinking? Go away, bye, fuck off!” The 47-year-old hissed at the Croatian, according to the sports picture at. Live with us: Some journalists and photographers. The coach’s freak happened after the warm-up, when the players who weren’t used on Saturday (in the 2:4 against Bremen) were supposed to listen to Dardais’ words. What indiscipline Sunjic is said to have allowed is not yet known. The incident fits into Hertha’s chaos chronology.
The 26-year-old has been loaned to Hertha BSC by the English second division club this season. In the first half of the season, the defensive midfielder was still a regular player, but since the turn of the year he has played almost no role. In the past five games, Sunjic has not received a minute of action. It is considered very unlikely that the Berliners will pull the purchase option of two million euros.
After 29 match days, Hertha is in last place in the Bundesliga with just 22 points. 16th place is currently three points away and 15th place is five points away (to the table). The “Old Lady” still has five games left. Next up are the ailing Bavarians (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.), followed by direct duels against Stuttgart (May 6) and Bochum (May 20). Hertha was last relegated in 2012.
