Naby Keïta is set for a surprise return to the Bundesliga. How sky and the Picture report unanimously, Werder Bremen is working on a transfer of the midfielder from Liverpool.

Keïta’s contract with the Reds expires in the summer and his departure from Anfield is already fixed. In recent weeks he has been traded as a newcomer to several clubs, including BVB.

According to the new reports, Keïta is said to be open to a move to Werder. As early as next week, the 28-year-old will complete his medical check-up on the Weser and then sign a contract that runs until 2026.

The Guinea national team captain joined Istres FC from Horoya AC in 2013, his first stop in Europe. In 2014 Red Bull Salzburg signed him for 1.5 million euros. In 2016 he went to RB Leipzig for almost 30 million euros before Liverpool signed him two years later for 60 million euros.

Due to multiple injuries, Keïta only made 13 appearances for team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team last season. He remained without a scorer point.
