André Breitenreiter’s days as coach of TSG Hoffenheim are apparently numbered. As the Picture-Zeitung reports that the 49-year-old should be on leave during the course of Sunday.
This is said to have been the result of a crisis summit in Zuzenhausen on Sunday.
Immediately after the 2:5 swatter in the basement duel at VfL Bochum, the management of TSG discussed the future of the trainer with sports director Alexander Rosen on Saturday evening. On Sunday afternoon, in consultation with patron Dietmar Hopp, the decision against Breitenreiter is said to have been made.
Breitenreiter took over TSG Hoffenheim from Alfred Schreuder in the summer. Since mid-October and a total of ten competitive games, the Kraichgauers have been waiting for a win. In the table, Hoffenheim are coming closer and closer to the relegation zone in fourteenth place.
