Hardly a game involving Sadio Mané goes by in which the Senegalese is not flagged for offside. The attacker from FC Bayern Munich is almost unrivaled in Europe – but by far not the only famous name. SPOX shows the 25 players in the top 5 leagues in Europe who most often fall into the offside trap.
Mané has celebrated in vain six times in the Bundesliga because he scored a goal that was ultimately disallowed. The last time this happened to him was on Saturday in the 5-3 win against Augsburg when he thought he had made it 5-1 in the 51st minute. No coincidence, as his total of 19 offside positions show.
SPOX has compiled the 25 players who are most frequently offside per 90 minutes. Only players with at least 900 minutes playing time were taken into account in order to avoid strong statistical outliers.
