FC Bayern: PSG landed in Munich on Monday
Unusually, Paris Saint-Germain arrived in Munich two days before the Champions League game against FC Bayern. Clubs usually only travel to the respective city the day before the game. The background is likely to be strikes against a planned pension reform in France on March 7th and 8th, which is why failures in local and long-distance transport are expected, especially in Paris.
The team is accommodated in the Hilton at Tucherpark. Upon their arrival on Monday night, the PSG players got loud Picture expected from around 150 fans, there would have been no autographs or photos. Kick-off is on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Allianz Arena. FC Bayern won the first leg three weeks ago 1-0
Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané: Mario Basler criticizes harshly
After Lothar Matthäus and Stefan Effenberg, Mario Basler also criticized the two out-of-form internationals Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané. “The two run around as if they were the very greatest, when they’re just flat whistles,” he said on his podcast Basel shoots.
Gnabry and Sané were only substituted on in the 2-1 win against VfB Stuttgart and were then not recommended for a return to the starting XI. “If I come in and have a great game in front of me four days later, then I want to show that I want to play from the start,” said Basler. “They feel punished, but that’s right. They didn’t deserve to play for Bayern from the start with their performances. And that’s why I would really punish them.”
Basler would even “delete the duo from the squad. Completely. I would send a clear signal on Wednesday, you can’t use them.” Basler had an alternative job ready for Gnabry: He should rather “open a hairdressing salon because he has a different hairstyle every week. First the mop, then ponytail again, probably dreadlocks on Wednesday.”
FC Bayern: Uli Hoeneß against Harry Kane’s commitment
Uli Hoeneß does not believe in a possible signing of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. “Manchester City wanted to pay 160 million for it last year. I don’t think it would be much cheaper now,” said the honorary president at a Munich event Evening News. “These are amounts that I would never pay for a 30-year-old player. A super player. But that’s money I don’t pay.”
Kane, who has recently been repeatedly associated with a move to FC Bayern, is celebrating his 30th birthday in July. His contract with Tottenham runs until 2024. FC Bayern recently extended the contract with their current first-choice striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for a year until 2024. According to sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, the two personal details have “nothing” to do with each other.
