Maria KeaneCoach Bruno Labbadia experienced a poor start at VfB Stuttgart – even if only under test conditions. At the end of the first week of training under the ex-professional, the Bundesliga club, which was threatened with relegation, lost 0: 3 (0: 1) to the Swiss first division club FC Luzern.
Without their World Cup drivers, but with a few regular players, VfB conceded goals from Asumah Abubakar (31′), Sofyan Chader (54′) and Thibault Klidje (75′) in the Robert Schlienz Stadium in the shadow of the arena.
Stuttgart’s best scoring opportunity came through Dan-Axel Zagadou, who hit the crossbar in the 40th minute.
“The test is important for us, we have to approach the game with 100 percent and implement what we trained this week. If we can get the last grain out of it and deliver a good game, that will help us,” said the captain Waldemar Anton said in advance.
