In an interview with the FAZ commented on FC Bayern’s approach to transfers and revealed that he has no right of veto on transfers.
Hasan Salihamidzic explained on Sky90 on Sunday that Bayern coach Nagelsmann basically has a say in transfers from the record champions. “He’s always at the table and he’s always there. He says what he likes and doesn’t like. Then we convince each other. If you like, that’s his team,” said the Munich sports director.
“It’s teamwork. We all work together and talk. We’re very communicative. That’s important to me. Each of us can address things that we don’t like about the other without anyone being immediately offended,” continued Salihamidzic .
In conversation with the FAZ Nagelsmann also reported on this procedure. “We first talk internally and select the players together. When things get really hot, there’s a meeting with Oliver Kahn, Hasan Salihamidzic, Marco Neppe (technical director, editor’s note) and me “said Nagelsman.
However, the 35-year-old admitted that he had no right of veto on transfers. “I believe that the club should have the last word. Because the half-life of a player is usually longer than that of a coach. Especially when it comes to young players. Then the club can say: We’ll get this player, and you work with him,” said Nagelsmann.
However, with older players “Oliver or Hasan would never get a player that the coach doesn’t want,” explained Nagelsmann.
