Will David Raum's transfer burst?

In the transfer summer that has been so successful so far, Borussia Dortmund has apparently had to accept a setback. As sports1 reported, the transfer of desired player David Raum is in danger of bursting. Accordingly, financially strong clubs from the Premier League are vying for the 24-year-old left-back. Specifically, Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham United are mentioned.

Raum put himself in the spotlight with strong performances at TSG Hoffenheim last season, and in the Bundesliga he made an outstanding 13 assists. The national player’s contract runs until 2026, but Hoffenheim is ready to sell if there is a corresponding offer, as explained by director of professional football Alexander Rosen.

“If a top club come along and they get the chance then obviously we’ll sit down with them,” he said. Noisy sports1 Hoffenheim’s transfer fee is 35 to 40 million euros, which would make Raum one of the most expensive newcomers in Dortmund’s club history.

At BVB, Raum could fix a problem in the squad. Nico Schulz was never able to meet expectations in the left-back position. Instead, Raphael Guerreiro is virtually unrivalled, although he is not a trained full-back and occasionally shows significant weaknesses in defense.

After the brisk summer of transfers so far and the multi-million dollar newcomers around Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck and probably Sebastien Haller, further income must first be generated before a transfer of the dimensions of a David room can be realized. In addition to Schulz, Manuel Akanji is the first candidate for sale.
