Will Dortmund U19 coach Mike Tullberg inherit Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt?

Oliver Glasner’s future at Eintracht Frankfurt is uncertain. In the event of a departure, the Hessians already have their sights set on a successor – a coach from the BVB camp.

As the Picture reported, Eintracht Dortmund’s U19 coach Mike Tullberg is said to have considered Glasner’s possible heir. The 37-year-old is one of the greatest coaching talents in the world.

Among other things, Tullberg made a name for himself because he formed Youssoufa Moukoko, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Ansgar Knauff, who is currently on loan to Frankfurt, into Bundesliga professionals.

BVB U19 coach Mike Tullberg in an interview: “The stage is big – but it remains our playground!”

In addition, Tullberg is the best U19 coach of all time with a points average of 2.59 in 51 games. Under him, the BVB youngsters celebrated the German championship in 2022.

Tullberg’s contract in Dortmund runs until 2026. However, he could possibly leave the club early if he was offered an offer from the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Eintracht does not want to get rid of Glasner. However, the Austrian had recently rejected an extension of his working paper, which expires in 2024, by two more years and asked for time to think about it. According to the Picture would wave the 48-year-old a salary increase of over one million euros if he stayed long-term. Instead of 2.1 million euros, he could earn three million euros in the future.

Oliver Glasner: Interest from Spurs and Chelsea?

According to the report, however, Glasner’s hesitation has a specific reason. He is said to have aroused desires in the Premier League. In addition to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur is also said to be vying for his services.

There was even contact between Glasner’s advisors and Spurs officials. The London club are said to be looking for a successor for Antonio Conte as the Italian is set to leave the club later this week, according to several English media outlets.

Conte recently sharply criticized the entire club and its players at a press conference. In addition, he should no longer have any desire to continue working for Tottenham.

Glasner has been on the sidelines of Eintracht Frankfurt since 2021. Last season he celebrated the greatest success of his coaching career by winning the Europa League.
