FC Bayern has continued its winning streak in the Bundesliga. On the 18th match day, the Munich team did not get beyond a 1-1 (1-0) draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. The winners, losers and the grades as well as individual reviews of the FCB pros.
Winner: Randal Kolo Muani
Great performance in the Allianz Arena! The Frenchman should already be on Bayern’s list anyway. After this game, Munich’s interest will have increased even more. Kolo Muani was always ready to play, dangerous and ripped off with his goal. Exactly what Bayern are looking for: a real centre-forward!
Winner: Josip Stanisic
His effort came as a relative surprise, but it paid off in full. Stanisic interpreted the right-back role like Noussair Mazrouai in his best games: the 22-year-old was sure of the ball, often switched to the front and often pulled into the middle. If he continues like this, it will be difficult for Benjamin Pavard on the right-back in the next few weeks.
Loser: Alphonso Davies
The Canadian showed a strangely insecure appearance. On the defensive with many weaknesses. A total of 23 turnovers. Even with his otherwise dangerous advances, Davies was extremely erratic.
FC Bayern: goalkeeper
Yan Summers: Powerless as Randal Kolo Muani equalizes. Otherwise not really required. That’s how it is as a goalkeeper FC Bayern! Saw yellow when running out in the 24th minute. Was he even there with his hand? Grade: 3.5.
FC Bayern: Defense
Josip Stanisic: Strong at 1-0 for Bayern: Faked a shot, but then played out to Müller, who served Sané. Safe at the back, with lots of impetus to the front. Only winner in the Bayern team. Grade: 2.5.
Dayot Upamecano: Allowed himself to be teased by Kolo Muani when equalizing. Had a very good chance with a header in the 36th minute, but the ball slipped off his forehead. Saw yellow after an unnecessary foul on Götze (56th). Was left behind in several duels. grade: 4
Matthijs de Ligt: Stable support in defense and often vocal driver. Unobtrusive in the game forward. Already saw yellow in the 8th minute for holding against Rode in midfield. Remained in safe mode for the rest of the game. Grade: 3.5.
Alphonso Davies: Several bad passes in the build-up, often not paying attention at the back. A stick error at the end of the 1st half against Götze could have been really dangerous! Weak as seldom. Grade: 4.5.
FC Bayern: Midfield
Joshua Kimmich: Busy with defensive tasks, so not as many impulses forward as usual. A dangerous long-range shot in the 30th minute: Trapp was only able to five and Müller missed the follow-up shot. Grade: 3.5.
Jamal Musiala: Frequently changed position: started attacking centrally in an initial 4-1-4-1 by Nagelsmann. Was ordered to eight by the coach midway through the first half. After Gravenberch was substituted on, then on the left offensive side. But couldn’t set any real accents anywhere. grade: 4
Leroy Sane: Dropped the ball too far from his chest after a pass from Kimmich (10′). But ice cold at his goal to 1-0. But after that it’s not noticeable. Note 3.
Thomas Müller: Good chance when Trapp high-fives, but then not determined enough. Strong preliminary work to 1: 0 by Sané. Müller showed that he can also play with Musiala. So we can count on him again! Note 3.
Kingsley Coman: Very dedicated and fast as always but with no real results. Shot very far over on one good occasion. Grade: 3.5.
FC Bayern: Attack
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: Placed well on Müller once, but he couldn’t make anything out of it. Restricted to the tasks as a wall player. Otherwise submerged over long distances. grade: 4
FC Bayern: Substitute
Serge Gnabry: Came in for Sané in the 70th minute. After that, but not involved in any good scenes. Will also have a hard time starting in the next few games. Without rating.
Ryan Gravenberch: In the 70th minute for Coman. Tries to stabilize the headquarters. Not more. Without rating.
Mathy’s phone: Came in for Choupo-Moting in the 77th minute. Couldn’t put any more accents. Without rating.
Marcel Sabitzer: Came into play for Stanisic in the 90th minute. No significant action. Without rating.
