Maria KeaneWhile Konrad Laimer has been associated with a farewell to RB Leipzig for weeks and months, national teammate Xaver Schlager is said to be a candidate for successor.
As sky and picture report, cup winner RB Leipzig has considered midfielder Xaver Schlager from VfL Wolfsburg. A rumor that fits like a glove. After all, the 24-year-old Austrian has similar qualities to Konrad Laimer – including running strength and aggressiveness.
Schlager, who is still under contract in Wolfsburg until the summer of 2023, is said to have an exit clause of around 40 million euros. Due to the contractual situation, the Lower Saxony are probably also willing to negotiate.
Laimer, on the other hand, has long been associated with a departure from Leipzig. Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool FC were recently named as possible buyers.
