Yann Sommer: Alleged interest from Inter Milan

Yann Sommer from FC Bayern Munich has apparently aroused the interest of Inter Milan. Contrary to rumors to the contrary, VfB Stuttgart is currently not dealing with the 34-year-old keeper from Switzerland, who would have to move into second place at FC Bayern after Manuel Neuer’s return.

As the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports, the first talks about a possible summer move to Serie A have already taken place. Inter’s first-choice keeper André Onana is about to be transferred to Manchester United. Alongside Anatolij Trubin from Shakhtar Donetsk, Sommer is considered to be the preferred candidate to succeed him. Inter is said to have tried to get Sommer back in January, and according to Romano, the player himself wants to switch to the Serie A club.

Recently there have also been rumors about VfB Stuttgart’s alleged interest in Sommer, which sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth im sky-Interview but denied. “From today’s perspective, that’s very unrealistic,” explained Wohlgemuth. “We are dealing with many topics. At the moment these are topics that are far away. Now we are sorting ourselves out within the preparation.”

Alexander Nübel, who returned to FC Bayern from his loan at AS Monaco, was also associated with VfB. “If we have to strengthen our position as goalkeepers, then we will go public and once we have created facts, we will do it again,” said Wohlgemuth.
