Antonio Conte is apparently the successor to Nuno Espirito Santo

After the 3-0 loss to Manchester United, the days of Tottenham coach Nuno Espirito Santo seem numbered. The Spurs are said to be looking for a successor. The favorite for the post is apparently ex-Chelsea and Juve coach Antonio Conte.

After just one win from the last four competitive games, Espirito Santo is apparently facing the end at Tottenham Hotspur. The portal reports tuttomercatoweb.com.

The management team of the Premier League club is therefore examining possible successors for the Portuguese, who only took over the helm at Spurs last summer. Antonio Conte is said to be the hottest candidate. Discussions about a possible cooperation are said to have already been held. There is even talk of a possible quick agreement.

The 52-year-old is without a club after his voluntary resignation at Inter Milan in the summer, so he would be without a transfer fee. Previously, Conte, who is actually on a sabbatical, was head coach at Juventus Turin, Chelsea FC and Atalanta Bergamo, among others.

Recently there had also been rumors that the Italian would be under discussion in the event of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal at Manchester United. Since Solskjaer is now likely to remain in office, at least for the time being, this option seems off the table.
