According to media reports, Bernardo Silva will turn down a new contract with Manchester City and a lucrative offer from Paris Saint-Germain to join FC Barcelona.
The 28-year-old has been at City for six years and has already been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer. But the Portuguese midfielder and winger seems ready to wait for Barça.
It remains to be seen whether City will accept an offer from Barcelona, which is unlikely to be particularly high given the club’s extremely precarious financial situation. Silva still has two years of contract with City, but loud Mundo Deportivo would not stand in the way of Pep Guardiola Silva provided the transfer fee is acceptable to City.
Silva will have to wait for Barcelona to dig up the money to make a suitable offer for him. More economic levers may need to be pulled in order for the Catalans to be able to afford to sign him.
