Burnley FC from the second English division apparently has to answer on suspicion of distorting competition. This is what the newspaper reports The Sun on Sunday.
The Vincent Kompany-led club, who secured promotion to the Premier League early on, are said to have deliberately started from a poorer XI against relegated Reading FC, allowing the underdogs to draw and earn a point. Those in charge of Huddersfield Town, which, like Reading, is fighting against relegation, raised this accusation.
If convicted, Burnley could face a fine and a point deduction.
