Chelsea have signed striker Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal. The blues officially announced this on Friday evening. The Senegal international has signed a contract that runs until 2031.
Jackson has long been considered the blues’ dream player for the storm center. He costs 37 million euros transfer fee. That’s slightly more than the amount of his release clause (35 million euros). However, Chelsea does not have to pay the amount in one go, but can pay it off in installments.
After Christopher Nkunku, Jackson is the second high-profile signing this summer for the Londoners.
Jackson joined the Villarreal youth team from his native Casa Sports in 2019. In 2020/21 he was loaned to CD Mirandés and has been part of the professional squad at the Yellow Submarine since summer 2022.
Behind Jackson is his breakthrough season in fifth place in LaLiga: The 22-year-old, who can play in the center of the attack and on both offensive wings, completed 38 competitive games. He scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists.
