Chelsea investigate racism incident against Tottenham's son

Chelsea have opened an investigation into racist remarks made against Heung-min Son during the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur (2-2). This was announced by coach Thomas Tuchel’s club on Thursday. Tottenham’s Son was insulted by a home fan when he was about to take a corner kick in the second half on Sunday.

“Chelsea FC has repeatedly made its zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory behavior clear – and yet there are still idiots like these who join the club as so-called fans,” the club said.

If the fan can be identified, he will “have to expect the club’s toughest measures”.

After the game, video footage emerged showing a fan making a racist gesture towards Son. Tottenham had equalized in injury time of the heated game.

After the final whistle, Tuchel and Tottenham coach Antonio Conte each saw the red card after an argument. Both team managers were then accused by the association, they face a ban.
