Chelsea probably want goalkeeper André Onana from Inter Milan

Premier League club Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana. As the Gazzetta dello Sport reportedChelsea have been keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old Cameroonian this season and are considering signing him in the summer.

In the blues, Onana is to replace Édouard Mendy, who slipped into second place after Kepa Arrizabalaga returned. The Senegalese joined Chelsea from Stade Rennes in 2020 and was instrumental in winning the Champions League in his first season. Chelsea manager Graham Potter has chosen Spaniard Kepa as his number one this season.

According to the report, Inter would be ready to sell Onana, who has a contract until 2027, for a transfer fee of 40 million euros. A swap deal with Romelu Lukaku and Trevoh Chalobah, who are currently on loan from the Blues to Milan, should also be possible.

Onana joined Inter from Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer earlier this season. At the Nerazzurri he ousted the previous regular keeper Samir Handanovic and played 17 games in Serie A in which he didn’t concede a goal seven times.
