Chelsea have struck again on the transfer market and secured the services of Brazilian striker Angelo Gabriel. The 18-year-old moves from FC Santos to the island and is expected to cost 15 million euros. Chelsea did not provide any information about the contract period.
The youngster became the youngest player ever to play in Brazil’s first division when he made his debut for the former Pele club at the age of 15 years and 308 days. He has now played 129 competitive games (five goals, ten assists) and is the youngest goalscorer in the Copa Libertadores.
However, it is questionable whether Angelo, as he is called, will play for the Blues from summer. There is a loan in the room, and sister club RC Strasbourg in France’s Ligue 1 is a possible buyer.
