Chelsea have completed the signing of Olympique Lyon right-back Malo Gusto.
As the Londoners announced on Sunday morning, the 19-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge next summer and spend the rest of the current season in Lyon. Gusto’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2030.
According to media reports, the transfer fee for Gusto is around 30 million euros. The French U21 international was recently linked to FC Bayern, who are said to have had him on their list as a possible replacement for Benjamin Pavard.
Chelsea have made several big transfers in recent weeks, signing Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and David Datro Fofana in January.
Trained at Lyon’s youth academy, Gusto made his Ligue 1 debut in January 2021 aged 17. In the current season he has made 15 competitive appearances for the French top club, in which he managed to get an assist.
