Contract extension! Pep Guardiola and Manchester City seem to agree

Pep Guardiola is said to be on the verge of extending his contract at Manchester City, which runs until the summer of 2023. The newspaper reports The Sun.

According to the report, the club and the successful 51-year-old coach have agreed on a term until 2025. There is talk of an agreement in principle.

The Sun also speaks of an option for another year, with which Guardiola could then draw level with Jürgen Klopp, whose contract extension at Liverpool FC is official until 2026.

Most recently, Guardiola was evasive when asked about an extension of his working paper. His focus is on defending the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Guardiola joined Manchester from FC Bayern Munich in 2016 and won the league title three times, the League Cup four times and the FA Cup once with the Skyblues.

Guardiola: More than a billion for players

Despite investing more than a billion euros in the squad, the Spaniard has not yet won the Champions League.

In the current season, City is in the semi-finals of the premier class. A 4-3 home win against record winners Real Madrid was achieved in the first leg.

The second leg will take place next Wednesday (9 p.m. in the LIVETICKER).
