The eccentric Tesla founder Elon Musk has caused a stir with an alleged interest in buying the English record champions Manchester United.
“And then I’ll buy Manchester United. You’re welcome,” wrote the world’s richest man, known for his provocative tweets Twitter.
A little later, Tusk backtracked and called his announcement “a joke”.
Musk was showered with questions from United fans after his tweet. The 51-year-old has 103 million followers, and his message received 500,000 likes in no time at all. Musk therefore felt compelled to make a denial.
“No, that’s an old joke on Twitter. I’m not going to buy any sports team,” he wrote. “But if I did buy one it would be ManU. They were my favorite team as a kid.”
