Farewell to Thomas Tuchel probably costs 17 million euros

The dismissal of Thomas Tuchel could be expensive for Chelsea afterwards. According to the English Daily Mail the farewell of the German and the coaching team cost the Londoners over 17 million euros.

With an annual salary of almost 15 million euros, Tuchel was probably the top earner among all Premier League coaches. The remaining two million euros are made up of the salaries of the remaining German coaching staff.

Should Tuchel sit out his contract, which runs until 2024, Chelsea would have to pay the full amount to the 49-year-old. That’s why the Blues are apparently hoping for an early next engagement from the German. Only then can his contract with the Londoners be terminated.
