Manchester City continues to successfully defend their Premier League title. Led by captain Ilkay Gündogan, team manager Pep Guardiola’s team won 3-0 (2-0) at Everton and extended their lead over Arsenal to four points, at least for a short time. The second in the table meets Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday evening.
Ilkay Gündogan (37′, 51′) and Erling Haaland (39′) scored the goals in City’s eleventh league win in a row. For Haaland it was already the 36th goal of the season. The win also marked Manchester’s successful dress rehearsal for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against holders Real Madrid. The first leg in Spain ended 1-1.
