Jorginho’s agent confirms interest from Juventus

With his gala performances over the past few weeks, the newly crowned European champion Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, also known as Jorginho has aroused the interest of numerous top clubs. One of them is Italy’s record champions, Juventus, the 29-year-old’s advisor Joao Santos Calciomercato said.

“I can confirm that the interest has been made. He is 29 and can play for all top European clubs. And some are interested” said Santos.

Jorginho is currently going through the best phase of his career. At the end of May, the native Brazilian won the Champions League with Chelsea, and last Sunday he won the European Championship final against England at Wembley. In both titles, the central midfielder played a decisive role as the clock.

His contract with Chelsea runs until the summer of 2023. “He’s still under contract for two years, the club has everything in its own hands,” said Santos of his client’s potential change plans. The Club World Cup at the end of the year and the European Supercup in a few weeks’ time are “important goals,” said Santos. “But the transfer market is the transfer market and if a big club really approaches Chelsea, we will evaluate it,” he said, adding: “As of now, Jorginho will play for Chelsea next season.”

Jorginho moved from SSC Napoli to London in 2018 together with coach Maurizio Sarri. Even after Sarri’s departure a year later, Jorginho remained an important part of the team under Frank Lampard but found himself on the bench more often in the past season.

Under Thomas Tuchel, Jorginho and Frenchman N’Golo Kante then formed a strong central midfield that was one of the keys to winning Chelsea the Champions League.
