On twitter Andy wrote on Sunday: “My brother got this letter from Jürgen Klopp during his cancer treatment. What a gentleman.” The day before, Chris had succumbed to cancer.
The letter from Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp in the wording:
Dear Chris,
first i hope you don’t mind that i write to you. I just want you to know that everyone in the Liverpool family supports you now.
There are a lot of people and sometimes I stop and think about how many people are supporting me and my players and that blows me away. But the fact that we all stick together is what makes this club so special.
I hope you don’t mind this time that I speak for you all when I say that we are all with you. It’s not just words, it’s something that really matters to us. When I listen to my players about what helps them on difficult days, everyone says that the support from the club and the fans makes a difference.
Another thing they tell me is that their family is the most important thing to them. I probably don’t need to tell you because I’ve been told that you have great family and friends around you, and that everyone is doing their best to support you.
You’ll never walk alone
Jürgen Klopp
