New team-mate for Kai Havertz at Arsenal FC: central defender Jurrien Timber (22) is moving from Dutch record champions Ajax Amsterdam to the English Premier League.
As the Gunners announced on Friday, the Dutch international has signed a “long-term” contract.
According to Ajax, the transfer fee should be 40 million euros and could increase to 45 million euros through possible bonuses.
Timber’s contract in Amsterdam originally ran until the summer of 2025. The defensive player can be used in defense both inside and on the right.
“He’s a versatile young defender who will fit into our system and add quality to our squad,” said Arsenal team manager Mikel Arteta.
