Klopp talks about the radio silence with Rangnick

Before the North-West derby between Liverpool FC and Manchester United, Jürgen Klopp talks about his relationship with Ralf Rangnick and lets it be known that the contact is not lively. There is a lot of praise from Rangnick.

Liverpool FC is currently on the road to success and dreams of quadruple with Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. Jürgen Klopp doesn’t want to go that far and is thinking first of Tuesday’s duel with Manchester United in the Premier League.

Ralf Rangnick has been in office there since October, but there is no lively exchange between the two Germans. “We haven’t had any contact since he came to England,” said Klopp at the pre-game press conference.

Klopp doesn’t think much of a German duel anyway: “I don’t want to play Klopp against Rangnick. When I prepare for the game, I don’t think about Ralf. The coaches won’t score the winning goal.”

Almost at the same time, Ralf Rangnick spoke about his opponent and found only words of praise about Klopp, “whom he has known for a long time”: “The same thing (what he did in Liverpool, editor’s note) happened in Dortmund and Mainz. He’s developed all these clubs to a different level. He’s one of the best, if not the best, coaches.”

Rangnick continued: “It’s no coincidence what happened. They got the right players and parted ways with the right players. That’s why they’re where they are.”
