Maria KeaneThe 19-time English football champions Liverpool FC have signed captain Jordan Henderson for a long time.
The club of the German team manager Jürgen Klopp announced on Tuesday. The Reds did not provide any information on the exact length of the contract.
Henderson has played for Liverpool for ten years. The 31-year-old scored a total of 30 goals in 394 games. Among other things, he won the championship and the Champions League.
Despite his status as Klopp’s extended arm on the field, a contract extension has long been pending. As The Athletic and the Mirror reported, the owner, the Fenway Sports Group, wants to focus more on young talent and less on veterans like Henderson. Nevertheless, the contract has now been extended.
