Team manager Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have continued their upward trend in the Premier League. The Reds beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 (0-0) on Saturday and set their sights on the international ranks again.
Diogo Jota (47th/55th) scored a brace for Liverpool, who ended their negative run of five competitive games without a win at the start of the week at relegation candidates Leeds United with a 6-1 win. The winning goal then scored Mo Salah (70th).
The hosts had clear field advantages in the first section, but did not use the opportunities that arose. Only Diogo Jota broke the goal ban.
Former champions Leicester City gave a sign of life in the relegation battle. The 2016 Premier League champions drew 2-1 (1-1) against Wolverhampton Wanderers, ending a negative run of nine straight defeats. Leicester initially improved to 17th position.
