Manchester City are reportedly planning a bid for Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino.
This is reported by the Spanish newspaper El Confidencial. The midfielder still has a contract until 2025. According to the report, Merino is available for a transfer fee of 60 million euros.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is said to have declared the 25-year-old to be the top target of the transfer window. The Spaniard has scored three goals and four assists in 27 appearances so far.
Merino was also active in the Bundesliga: In the 2016/17 season he made seven appearances for Borussia Dortmund. Most of the time he wasn’t in the squad.
