Manchester City - Pep Guardiola on Bernardo Silva: "He likes FC Barcelona very much"

Is Bernardo Silva still drawn to FC Barcelona? Pep Guardiola and Xavi have now fueled rumors about the attacker.

Pep Guardiola and Xavi have commented on Bernardo Silva and a possible move to FC Barcelona. The City manager said at the press conference after the friendly against the Catalans: “We want Bernardo Silva with us, but I don’t want anyone to be unhappy here. First of all, the two clubs have to come to an agreement – then of course I want him in of my team. It’s true that Bernardo Silva is very fond of FC Barcelona.”

Earlier, Barca coach Xavi addressed the Portuguese and stressed: ‘I love Bernardo as a player’, drawing a joking look from his former coach. “He understands everything and has an amazing ability to make decisions. He’s a very important player for Pep and he makes the difference on the pitch,” continued the 42-year-old.

Bernardo Silva in conversation at Barca and PSG

Bernardo Silva has been in talks at FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for weeks. The 28-year-old should be a transfer target, especially for the Catalans. The problem: Barça would apparently have to pay 85 million euros for Silva, which should not be possible for the club.

He is still under contract with the Skyblues until 2025, his market value is currently 80 million euros. In 2017, the Portugal international joined City from AS Monaco for €50m.
